STONE the crows, it's that time of year again! Belbroughton Scarecrow Festival is taking place this weekend.

The event, which this year has a fables and fairytales theme, will run on Saturday September 30 and Sunday October 1.

Visitors to the picturesque north Worcestershire village can expect to see hundreds of wurzels adorning the streets, buildings and lamp-posts.

There will be also be a host of family-friendly entertainment and activities laid on throughout throughout the event which will run from 10am to 6pm on both days.

The Rich Goodwin air stunt show will be among the highlights.

There will also be live music, stage school performances, Flip and Dippy the clowns, miniature steam railway, classic car display, facepainting, magic performances, children's rides, creatures from Dudley Zoo and a selection of craft, food and trade stalls.

Visitors as well as villagers can submit entries for the best scarecrow competition - the prizes for which will be awarded at 12.30pm on Sunday.

Last entry to the festival is at 4pm.

Admission is £15 per car on the day.

Visitors from the Black Country and Bromsgrove are urged to drive to the festival via the A491 as there will be no access to the car parks for vehicles from Clent/Holy Cross.

People travelling from Kidderminster are urged to head to the official scarecrow car park at Belbroughton Cricket Club, via the a456 and the B4188.
