A CONVICTED Stourbridge pervert caught with sickening indecent photographs of children on his mobile has been locked up for a year.

Anthony Hackett had been given a suspended prison sentence in 2012 for making pornographic images of children together with a Supervision Order.

But when the 37-year-old, who was also made the subject of a Sex Offenders Protection Order, breached the ruling he was put behind bars for 18 weeks.

Hackett was released from custody and when police officers went to his home in Audnam to make sure he was still complying with the order they found he had downloaded more indecent images onto his mobile.

Judge Martin Walsh Hackett at Wolverhampton Crown Court told him: "The aggravating feature in this case is your antecedent history.

"The downloading of these images is not a victimless crime. These children are subjected to real sexual abuse.

"You failed to avail yourself of the opportunity you were given in the past for counselling in the community."

He warned Hackett that if he continued to make indecent photographs of children the "prison sentences will get longer and longer."

Julian Harris, defending, told the court Hackett had lead a "thoroughly miserable life" adding: "He was addicted to alcohol and he has very few friends."

The judge told Hackett he must now register as a sex offender for the next ten years and he made a new seven-year Sex Offenders Protection Order.

Hackett had denied two charges of making indecent images of children but he was convicted by a jury after they retired to consider the evidence at the end of his trial.
