THE Black Country Foodbank and Dudley Bliss have been named as the charity partners for Sainsbury's stores in Amblecote and Merry Hill.
Both charities will benefit from a year's worth of fundraising after customers were asked to vote for a worthy cause.
Cash raised from activities in the Amblecote store will go to the the foodbank, based in Albion Street, Brierley Hill, which provides vulnerable individuals and families with emergency food supplies, while a longer-term solution is developed.
Additionally, a collection bin will be set up behind checkouts, allowing customers and staff to donate non-perishable food items or toiletries.
The Merry Hill store will support Dudley Bliss, a charity run by mums, to support parents with premature babies across the borough.
Last year, the stores raised a combined total of £10,000 for former charity partners, Mary Stevens Hospice and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
