GREEN-fingered residents are being urged to get behind plans to launch the first Amblecote in Bloom.
The project is the brainchild of Councillor Christine Perks, who has already decided to form a Friends of Amblecote group to take the initiative forward.
She is hoping to get residents, traders and community organisations to join the group and spruce up the village in time for summer.
Cllr Perks said: "Following the success of Halesowen and Stourbridge in Bloom, I thought it would be a great idea to do something even more local and I thought Amblecote would be the perfect place to give it a go.
"I have approached a number of traders and organisations and people have been so enthusiastic, I'm overwhelmed by the support."
She envisages High Street and Brettell Lane being full of hanging baskets in time for the Black Country Day celebrations in July but needs sponsors and volunteers to make it a reality.
Anyone who would like to join the friends group should email cllr.christine.perks@dudleymbc.org.uk.
