CUSTOMERS to Amblecote and Merry Hill Sainsbury’s stores now have the chance to vote for their choice of three charities to become the local charity of the year.

Voting is taking place in store until Sunday June 28, as well as online, where customers can pick their preferred choice of those shortlisted.

The charity with the most in store and online public votes, at each store, will be supported throughout the next twelve months with fundraising and volunteering.

Customers to Sainsbury's Amblecote store can chose between The Paul Ackrill Fund, Dudley Mind and the Alzheimer's Society, while the three shortlisted causes at the Merry Hill store are White House Cancer Support Dudley, Georgina Unit at Russell's Hall Hospital and the Alzheimer's Society.

Once all the votes are counted and verified, the results will be announced at the beginning of July.

Last year, Amblecote and Merry Hill Stores raised nearly £13,000 for their former charity partners The Black Country Food Bank and Dudley Bliss.
