IT may almost be a month since Christmas Day, but an Amblecote supermarket is still spreading festive joy around Dudley.

Sainsbury’s Amblecote has made sure its Christmas decorations have not gone to waste by donating a selection of colourful and traditional items to Brierley Hill Primary School, Peter’s Hill Primary School, Ham Dingle Primary School and the 1st Norton Rainbows.

The decorations, which included a 3D Christmas trees, presents, bunting and Christmas puddings, will now be put to good use by the groups next year.

Store manager Andy Beardmore said: “We had lots of really nice comments about our decorations this year, so I’m really pleased that we can give them a new lease of life next year, by donating them to the local groups.”

Julie Bate, the store’s PR Ambassador, visited the schools during the first week of the new term to hand over the decorations and is planning a visit to the 1st Norton Rainbows group at the end of January to see their donation on display.

Lee-Anne Knowles, assistant headteacher of Brierley Hill Primary School, said: “I’d like to thank Sainsbury’s Amblecote for this generous donation. We’ll certainly be putting them to good use!

“The decorations will look fantastic in our school.”
