THE night when the Zeppelins of the Imperial German Navy bombed the Black Country will be the main topic for discussion at the next Amblecote History Society meeting.

Ian Bott, a popular Wednesbury-based historian and author, will lead the talk entitled ‘The Zeppelin Night of Terror’.

Marking the centenary year of the event, Ian will recall the night where, on a mission to attack Liverpool, the German Navy got lost in fog and bombed the region by mistake.

Meeting on Wednesday, March 9, in The Lehr Theatre at the Ruskin Glass Centre, the group’s talk begins at 7.30pm with an admission charge of £2 for non-members.
