THE Crystal Canal, otherwise known as the Stourbridge arm of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire waterway system, will be the topic of an upcoming meeting.
Chris Dyche, a local man with a passion for canals, has been director of both the Stourbridge Navigation Trust and the Staffs & Worcs Canal Society and will give a fascinating talk at the next Amblecote History Society event.
His talk, ‘A View of our Local Canal’, will focus specifically on the Stourbridge arm, as well as the Bonded Warehouse, illustrating with unique photographic slides how the area rose from decay and dereliction to what it is today.
Meeting on Wednesday, September 14, in The Lehr Theatre at the Ruskin Glass Centre, the group’s talk begins at 7.30pm with an admission charge of £2 for non-members.
