A HIGHLY acclaimed borough choir has announced Mary Stevens Hospice as its chosen charity for the forthcoming year.

Many members of popular group Viva Musica volunteer at the hospice, making the Stourbridge charity an obvious choice for their support.

The choir, which features more than 70 mixed voices performing a wide range of classical, religious, modern and popular choral music, will start their hospice fundraising at their next concert on Saturday October 15 at The Ruskin Centre in Amblecote.

Starting at 7pm, the concert is also a celebration to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Budding singers can also come along and meet the choir during an open evening event at Ham Dingle Primary School on Tuesday (September 13).

The open evening will begin at 7.30pm at the choir’s Pedmore rehearsal venue, where visitors will be able to enjoy an evening of singing.

To book tickets – costing £10 – for the choir’s special ‘Her Majesty’s Life in Song’ concert, call 0121 550 5581 or 01562 883480.
