A BELBROUGHTON charity is appealing for animal lovers to rehome two unlucky greyhounds who are back in its kennels for a second time.

Hall Green Retired Greyhound Trust rehomed Prince and Amber in 2007, but due to their owners’ impending divorce they are back at the charity’s kennels in Stourbridge Road, Belbroughton.

Volunteer Christina Fowler said: “It is very sad to see the pair back at our re-homing kennels four years later, after experiencing life in a loving secure home and enjoying the family routine including pleasures including walks in the park, their own duvets and toys.”

The pair must be rehomed together as they have formed a very close bond.

Prince was a Hall Green Stadium champion racer. The nine-year-old took part in 218 races and won 40.

He is good with people and children and gets on well with other breeds but could not live with cats.

Amber never took to the track as she was totalling disinterested in racing as a puppy.

The sweet five-year-old hound is very lovable but could also not live with cats.

Christina said greyhounds make great pets and contrary to popular belief are quite lazy - they only need around two 20 minute walks a day and are happy snuggled up at home on a duvet.

The trust will rehome pets with people who work all day as long as someone can look in on them at lunchtime.

Anyone interested in giving Prince and Amber a home can call volunteers at Hall Green Retired Greyhound Trust on 0121 426 4810.
