A FATAL incident near Belbroughton has left passers-by who stopped to help in shock.
Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the B4188 between Belbroughton and Blakedown at around 11.30am today (Wednesday) following reports of a vehicle on fire in a field.
One person was later confirmed dead at the scene and West Mercia Police were this afternoon working to try to identify the deceased.
Pc Mounter of West Mercia Police said: "A number of people stopped at the scene and one of the reports suggests the car, believed to be a grey Rover 75, may have been on fire before it left the road and went through a hedge into a field.
"We are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw anything unusual in that area at the relevant time to contact us on 0300 333 3000 quoting incident 185-s-140312."
