THE latest edition of Clent History Society's occasional publication, Clent Clarion, sees RAF member Derek Hookway recounting tales of his carefree upbringing in the village in the 1940s and 50s.
Born at Jasmine Cottage, Adams Hill, in 1934, Derek lived in Clent for 21 years - excluding his four years spent in the RAF - until his parents moved away in 1955.
History society secretary Carole Hodgson said: “Derek’s memories of his happy childhood and youth in Clent are a joy to read and recall a carefree world which many of us shared.”
