A 12-year-old Wyre Forest Swimming Club member made a splash on Christmas day by swimming across Weymouth Harbour.
Samuel Baggott, of Blakedown, dived in and swam across the Dorset harbour to raise £114 for Wulfrun Destitute Pets Charity in Wolverhampton.
The event is organised by Weymouth and Portland Lions Club annually and this year, 239 swimmers took the plunge into the eight degree water.
The year eight pupil at Haybridge High School, in Hagley, said: “The worst part was the shock of the cold water when I dived in. It was good fun too and the crowds cheered me on.”
Samuel chose Wulfrun destitute pets after his family adopted two Siamese cats, Coco and Teddy, from the charity last year.
The cats had been rescued by the charity after their owner could no longer care for them.
Samuel's father Paul Baggott also took part in the swim.
