STAFF and current and past pupils at a Wolverley school have celebrated 10 years of its day nursery.

On March 3, 2003, the doors of Heathfield School’s nursery were opened for the first time.

A party, which included birthday cake, took place at the school last Friday, March 1 when 11 of the group who first joined the nursery, some still at Heathfield in the senior school, were presented with cards decorated with their baby photographs.

The building was converted from residential accommodation used for staff when Heathfield was a boarding school, becoming a bright, airy space for children from three months to three years old.

School spokeswoman Anne Williams said: “The day nursery continues to thrive and attracts children who are completely new to Heathfield as well as the offspring of parents who once came themselves.”
