The president welcomed members and visitors from neighbouring WIs to the Blakedown WI Christmas entertainment evening.
The evening opened with a spirited rendition of ‘Jerusalem’.
This was followed by the only item of business which was to remind members that subs are due in February.
Mince pies and refreshments were served to all by the committee before the eagerly anticipated start of the entertainment.
‘The world’s got talent’ was the theme of the entertainment, with Sharon and Tracy as unlikely scouts for Simon Cowell.
The WI were welcomed aboard flights on ‘Blakedown (no - ‘Breakdown’) Airways’, to Italy, Toyland and Mexico, where the menfolk of Blakedown WI joined the ladies to provide hilarious acts of entertainment.
The cast were greeted with thunderous applause.
Away in a manger was then sung to recognise the forthcoming festivities.
The whole evening was a great success, and many thanks to the cast who worked so hard to entertain everyone.
