AN ELDERLY couple sustained serious injuries in a head on collision while driving in Blakedown yesterday evening. (December 10)
A man in his nineties and his passenger, a woman in her eighties, were trapped inside a Honda Jazz after colliding with a black Ford Fiesta on Birmingham Road at 6.23pm.
The cars were travelling in opposite directions, with the elderly pair heading towards Blakedown, when they collided head on.
The pair were cut out of the vehicle by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Extensive damage was caused to both vehicles, while driver of the Ford Fiesta walked away from the incident with minor whiplash.
West Mercia Police is urging anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to the incident to call 121 quoting incident number 543 of 10th December.
