The Brierley Hill branch of International Inner Wheel met at the Best Western Himley Hotel on January 2. The meeting featured one of our members, Carol Law, talking about the company Crossroads which she works for.

The organisation provides free regular care and support for those in need – elderly and/or disabled.

Enabling people to be more active, to socialise and to manage their own health needs; assisting with shopping for and preparing nutritious meals and offering carers ‘time out’ when necessary. Contact dudley@ crossroads.org.uk or telephone 01384 298513 for further details.

For those of you old enough to remember the television programme Crossroads then you would be right in thinking that the name originates from that programme as the television company were instrumental in the initial set up and financing of the care organisation.

Carol was also able to talk to us about our Brierley Hill Inner Wheel Facebook page which we have recently set up.

The joint presidents Marilyn McDonald and Jeanette Davies are to visit the Multiple Sclerosis Society on January 14 to present two trollies which have been purchased to commemorate the 90th birthday of International Inner Wheel. The committee member Lynn Adams made money for our charity fund at her karaoke afternoon in December and we have recently donated to Mary Stevens Hospice in memory of one of our members who passed away.
