A BRIERLEY Hill teenager who sat on his former girlfriend before kicking her has been sent to a young offenders institution for 24 weeks.

Father-of-one Ryan Jones "beat up" the young woman while he was the subject of a 16 week suspended prison term, imposed for three earlier assaults on the same victim.

Jones, aged 18, of Addison Road, was also in breach of a restraining order to keep away from the victim, said Geoffrey Dann, prosecuting.

He told Wolverhampton Crown Court that security staff at Russells Hall Hospital were watching CCTV when they saw the assault and immediately contacted police.

The victim suffered minor head injuries while Jones also spat at one of the security guards as he was being arrested, added Mr Dann.

He said that in a victim impact statement she later told police officers she now feels anxious and that she can no longer live in the Dudley area.

Jones admitted two charges of assault and breaching the two orders.

He was warned by Recorder Stuart Sprawson that he would not be treated so leniently if he came back before the court.
