POLICE were called to Merry Hill yesterday (Wednesday) following a report of that an attempt had been made to abduct two young children.
Officers arrived at the Brierley Hill shopping centre within minutes and two men, both aged 40, were arrested at around 4pm.
Detailed statements were taken and it emerged that the incident was most likely a misunderstanding.
The men were released on police bail while some final enquiries are made.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said officers would be conducting increased high visibility patrols in the Merry Hill area to reassure shoppers that their safety is a priority for the team.
