FIREFIGHTERS from Brierley Hill and Stourbridge were called to the scene of a house fire in Amblecote last night (May 28).

West Midlands Fire Service crews were alerted to and attended a fire in the first floor bedroom of a two storey semi detached house in Bittern Walk, Peters Hill, at 9.08pm.

The blaze affected about 60 per cent of the bedroom while 50 per cent of the property has suffered from smoke damage.

Two other rooms on the floor were also affected.

A fire service spokesman said: “Two firefighters with breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet and ventilation fan to put out the flames.

“A thermal imaging camera was also used to check for hotspots throughout the property.

“All persons were accounted for and one female was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service."

No cause has yet been given for the incident which has been classed as an accident.
