BOROUGH residents are being invited to meet the people in charge of keeping the community safe at an annual consultation event.

The ‘have your say’ event, organised by Safe & Sound – Dudley’s Community Safety Partnership, offers residents a chance to speak to senior officers and decision-makers from the police, council, fire service and other community organisations.

Taking place between 6.30pm and 9pm on September 24, at Brierley Hill Civic Hall, the meeting will feature small workshops as well as a question time session.

Those who attend will be able to say what they think the big issues are and how they should be tackled over the next year and also talk about what has been done well and what can be improved.

Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for community safety, said: “I’m pleased this year’s consultation event is going to be driven more by the community. By incorporating workshops we can really find out what issues communities are facing.

“This event is a real opportunity for residents to express their views and influence what happens in the borough. If you’re interested in how crime is tackled and want to speak directly to the borough’s decision makers it’s definitely worth attending.

“As a community council we are committed to working with partners and the community to make Dudley borough feel safer.”
