DUDLEY’S older residents are being invited to an annual conference to discover more about services available for them across the borough.
The older people’s conference will feature presentations from a range of speakers, round table discussions and a special report on the Age Alliance survey of older people’s experiences of loneliness.
The survey was carried out to raise awareness about loneliness and isolation and to find out what can be done to help older people who are experiencing loneliness.
It takes place at Brierley Hill Civic Hall on Thursday October 1, from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
Borough Councillor Dave Branwood, cabinet member for adult social care, said: “This is a great opportunity for individuals or organisations working with older people in the borough to find out what services are currently available and to take part in discussion groups to help plan future services.”
Refreshments – including a buffet lunch – will be provided, while travel costs will be reimbursed for any older person attending.
