A BRIERLEY Hill organisation which aims to create a better understanding of the community's needs has donated funds to Lye’s Midlands Air Ambulance.

The 3941 Batham Lodge of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB) handed over £250 to the Dudley Road charity to help fund its vital life-saving work.

Based in the Vine Inn, in Delph Road, the lodge promotes the RAOB’s main principals of friendship, charitable works, social activity, mutual support and care.

Chris Thompson, trustee, said: “Each year we decide on a cause that should benefit from our fundraising and we were delighted to choose Midlands Air Ambulance this time.

“They are a local charity and a very worthwhile cause.

“Even though you hope you will never need their help, it is great to know they are there and they do wonderful work for the whole of the Midlands.”

Each year, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has to raise £6.5million to keep its three helicopters airborne to deal with the 2,000 emergency incidents it responds to.
