THE Prince's Trust will bring its 40th anniversary celebrations to Dudley this weekend as it searches for stories from people whose lives have been touched by its work.

Supporters and members of the public will be invited to join the festivities on board the HomeSense #PartpfPT tour bus which will be at the chain’s Merry Hill-branch this Saturday (April 16).

There they can share stories about their experiences with the trust, while all the tales collected during the tour will be shared on a special #PartofPT website.

John O’Reilly, director for The Prince’s Trust in Central England, said: “There are so many people in the West Midlands out there who have been a part of the trust in some way over the last 40 years, whether they’ve been supported by us, felt the benefit of us helping a family member, donated, volunteered or raised money for us, and they have all helped to make the charity what it is today.

“We’re committed to helping thousands more young people as we look to the future.

“By sharing the stories of the people we’ve worked with so far we hope young people in the West Midlands who need our support right now will be inspired to find out how we can help them.”

Visitors to the #PartofPT tour at Merry Hill will also be able to watch entertainment from Prince’s Trust supported performers, meet young entrepreneurs, have a go on a mobile climbing wall, learn about robots and speak with a Prince’s Trust celebrity ambassador.

Suzanne Inch, retail director at HomeSense, said: “HomeSense is proud to support the #PartofPT Tour in The Prince’s Trust landmark 40th year.

“We are delighted to help thank the trust’s supporters who have made the youth charity what it is today and celebrate the hundreds of thousands of people whose lives have been touched by its work.”

More than 825,000 young people from across the UK have been directly supported by the Prince's Trust since 1976 and thousands more have fundraised, volunteered or worked with the youth charity over the years.
