FOOTBALLING all-stars from Wolverhampton Wanderers are getting set to take on Dudley Town next month at an event in aid of the Mayor of Dudley’s charities.

The mayor, Councillor Mohammed Hanif, will also be donning his football boots and joining in with the action as he kicks off his fundraising drive.

The match between Dudley Town and Wolves All-Stars will take place at The Dell Stadium in Brierley Hill on Sunday, November 27.

Cllr Hanif said: “I would like to thank Dudley Town Football Club for organising this match. It is very much appreciated and I hope we can raise lots of money for such worthy causes.

“It is very much going to be a family day out so I would encourage people to come along and have a great afternoon of entertainment.”

Proceeds from the event, which also features refreshments and a raffle, will be split between the Mayor’s nominated charities – Diabetes UK Dudley Group, Dudley CIL and Friends of Alfie Johnson – and also Dudley Town’s own nominated charity, The Black Country Fibromyalgia Support Group.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions (under 16s and seniors), while children under 10 go free.

These can be reserved by calling Steve Edwards on 07858 876649 and collected in person from The Black Country T-Shirt Shop, in Castle Street, Dudley, while also available from Pure Gym, in Brierley Hill.
