PROFESSIONAL musicians and performers are gearing up for a Moonlight Sinatra concert at Brierley Hill Civic Hall which will help raise money for Mary Stevens Hospice.

Big World Theatre Company together with GigCaritas, a collaborative company set up by music lovers Keith Horsfall and Chris Passey to help raise cash for good causes, will bring together a 25-piece big band, Dudley Performing Arts Big Band and guest singers for the event on Saturday July 14 at 7.30pm.

Wordsley singer and composer Chris, who will be performing on the night with internationally renowned vocalist Vie Watson, said: "The evening will celebrate everything about big band music."

Chris, whose recent self-penned musical theatre album was a bestseller on iTunes and gained critical acclaim at the Stiles and Drewe Best New Song Awards in London, said no-one performing at GigCaritas events takes a fee, adding: "Everyone does it out of a love of performing and a group responsibility to raise money for others."

The collaboration's first event - Handel's Messiah - raised £3,000 for St Thomas's Church in Stourbridge.

Tickets for Moonlight Sinatra are £10 for cabaret style seating or £8 for a balcony seat.

They are available from Dudley Council Plus on 01384 812812.
