Ross Barbour, the head gardener from Ragley Hall, provided an evening of humour, knowledge and enthusiasm at the November meeting.

Ragley Hall is famous for its beautiful wall paintings but is now becoming a treat for garden enthusiasts.

The fantastic colour range and planning of the new and reconstructed gardens brought to life by Ross and his team are a sight not to be missed.

The massive spread of purple crocus jumping out of the screen prompted a gasp from the audience.

These keen gardeners have planted thousands of spring bulbs in all parts of the garden and although spring would be a delightful time to visit it is in fact an all-year-round garden.

The club will be holding a pre- Christmas get-together at Chaddesley Corbett Village Hall, on Wednesday, December 11, at 7.30pm for 8pm.

It will be a light-hearted evening with cheese and wine followed by entertainment in the company of friends and fellow gardeners.

Visitors are very welcome The New Year starts with a talk on ‘Herbaceous Borders’ by Ingrid Millington, from Hillview Hardy Plants, on January 8.

She will be bringing plants for sale so it will be a good time to start planning your borders and an opportunity to buy some nursery-grown plants.

The AGM will be on February 12.
