DONATIONS of women’s clothes, handbags and shoes are being appealed for in aid of the Diabetic Association UK.

Chaddesley Corbett resident Paul Vick, fund organiser for the association and sufferer of diabetes, is urging residents to donate the items to be sold with the proceeds going to the charity.

The association has no retail stores, but all goods will be sold and exported to countries in Africa where good quality clothing is required.

Mr Vick said: “As a 66-year-old diabetic myself I understand the problems that other sufferers go through and need the support of the Diabetic Association.

“The association receives no government support funding and relies entirely on donations and subscriptions to fund its many projects and research into the complications of diabetes.

“It is with support like this that ultimately we will be able to find a cure while, in the meantime, help those who live with diabetes every day.

“Diabetes is the fastest growing health threat in the UK so the time to act and raise money is now.”

Mr Vick said the association will welcome donations from companies as well as individuals, and regular donations will be gratefully received.

Donations can be made by courier or post to Fund Organiser, Fold Cottage, Winterfold Farm, Chaddesley Corbett, Worcs, DY10 4PL.

Local collections can be arranged within a 10 mile radius by calling Paul Vick on 01562 777094.
