ORNAMENTAL animals worth more than £5,000 have been stolen from a garden centre near Clent.

More than 20 garden ornaments, mainly made from metal, were taken from Barnett Hill Garden Centre in Worcester Road after thieves broke into the premises.

Ornamental cows, cats, mice, chickens and a large dog made from resin were among the items taken during the burglary which happened between 6.15pm on Monday (July 1) and 6.20am on Tuesday (July 2).

Police Constable Rich Allen said: “These are unusual items which the thieves are likely to be trying to sell.

“I am appealing for witnesses who saw any suspicious activity at or near the garden centre overnight on Monday, and also for information on the whereabouts of the stolen goods.”

Anyone with information should call PC Rich Allen at Kidderminster Police Station by dialling 101, or telephone the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
