AN artistic Kingswinford schoolgirl has won a trip on Santa’s sleigh after dazzling competition judges with her creative skills.

Mia Pearson, aged four, was the winner of Barnett Hill Garden Centre’s Santa’s Badge competition.

Her neat colouring and attention to detail was noted by the judges and the design she created will appear on 1,000 badges, which will be handed to every child who visits the grotto at the Clent centre.

The Dawley Brook Primary School pupil faced stiff competition as hundreds children took part but her design was declared the best and she was rewarded with a six foot Christmas tree for her school and a prize of her choice, worth £30.

Mia will also be Santa’s VIP guest at the grotto launch day and arrive with him on his sleigh, pulled by real reindeer on Saturday November 16 at 11am.

The grotto will be open from 11.30am and the reindeer will be on site until 3pm.

Tickets cost £6 per child and include a special gift and a badge displaying Mia’s winning design.
