THE first phase of the new CALA Homes development in Hagley has virtually sold out developers said this week.

Unprecedented levels of interest in the Wychbury Fields development, off Kidderminster Road, led to the decision to sell the properties off plan.

And in just eight weeks eight homes have been sold, leaving just two remaining - The Halford, a £475,000 four-bedroom detached family home, and The Evesham, a £400,000 bay-fronted, three-bedroom detached property.

The development, which is being built on 30 acres of land previously forming part of Lord Cobham's estate, will comprise 175 two, three, four and five bedroom homes - suitable for first time buyers to larger families - when complete.

Designed around a ‘garden village’ concept within a parkland setting, many of the new homes have countryside views and their design takes inspiration from the Arts and Crafts movement of the 1930s.

Robert Monkman, CALA Homes Midlands' sales and marketing director, said: “Hagley is a highly aspirational location and this is a flagship development for CALA so we’re delighted with the success of phase one.

"We have designed a high quality scheme, which is traditional in design and sensitive to its village location, which has had a broad appeal.

"The considerable contribution we are making to improvements to local infrastructure and services also means the development is benefitting the wider community.”

Hagley county councillor Steve Colella, chairman of Hagley Parish Council, said he was "not surprised" to hear many of the first phase homes had already been snapped up and he added: "We certainly knew it would be a popular development and wouldn't take long before it really took off."

The development has been divided into four phases and will be complete by late 2017.
