A local friendly club catering for everyone interested in painting and art whether as an active artist or otherwise. We cater for all skills and interests.
The next meeting of the Club is on Friday, May 8 starting at 7.30pm at St Saviours Church Hall by the traffic lights in Hagley when renowned International Artist David Johnston will give a demonstration and talk entitled ‘Texture in Nature, in Oils’.
David described his work as: “Someone once said “painting is like a language - the more competent the artist is with his language [ie.in paint] the better he can express himself - and likewise the more of an understanding the viewer has in the language of painting the more they can appreciate the artist’s work.”
“Using my main medium of oils (which I prefer for its versatility) I continually strive to become more fluent in the language of painting and thereby pass my love and passion for my art onto the viewer”.
Visitors are always welcome to attend all our meetings.
