TIME is running out to ‘go green’ this New Year as the deadline approaches for recycling your old Christmas trees.
Hagley based garden store Webbs is urging Stourbridge folk to donate their old firs to the store’s annual campaign before Sunday (January 10).
Last year more than 500 trees were recycled using the free service and the Kidderminster South Road store hopes it will prove even more popular this year.
Ed Webb, store chairman, said: “People are much more environmentally aware and keen to recycle wherever possible.
“Having the tree recycling initiative right here on the doorstep makes it simple and hassle-free for local people to do their bit.“
Once the trees have been donated by customers, they are made into chippings which are then composted for a year and used around the grounds and gardens at the stores as mulch.
The trees can be recycled during the stores normal opening hours. For more information visit www.webbs.co.uk
