POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an assault at the Old Halesonians Rugby Club, in Hagley, in the evening of May 28.

West Mercia cops were called to the Wassell Grove venue at about 10.08pm after receiving reports that a 23-year-old was attacked.

Officers said the man was physically assaulted by an unknown man by the bar area between 9.50pm and 10pm.

Following on from the initial assault, it is believed two other men, aged 22 and 34, were also assaulted. The injuries the victims sustained are believed to have been minor and did not require hospital treatment.

Police describe the suspect as a white man, thought to be in his 20s, with short cropped hair on the sides and long on top, a beard, about 5ft 11ins in height and of slim build.

He was believed to be wearing a red check shirt, black skinny jeans and possibility white and black trainers.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police, said: “The alleged offender was removed from the premises by staff and was seen leaving the club with a woman of an unknown description.

“A number of enquires have taken place but have not provided successful.”
