SHOW-stopping bakes are set to be whipped up in aid of Mary Stevens Hospice this weekend as part of the Great Sanderson Court Bake Off.

Hagley locals are being invited to a lively afternoon of sweet treats at McCarthy and Stone’s new Sanderson Court development on Saturday (July 16) between noon and 4pm.

Bakers will be charged £2 for entry, and from 1pm all the bakes will be sampled and adjudicated by an esteemed panel of judges.

Chairman of Bromsgrove District Council, Councillor Helen Jones, general manager at the Lyttleton Arms, Chris Cunningham, and Mary Stevens Hospice’s Laura Millard will all be channelling their inner Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood as they pick their winner.

As well as entering the bake off, visitors can also try their luck in the prize raffle, which includes a hamper and a meal for two at the Lyttelton Arms, with all proceeds donated to the Stourbridge-based hospice.

Robert Monkman, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming Hagley locals down to a scrumptious afternoon at our bake off event.
