TAILS are wagging at a charity which re-homes retired greyhounds after receiving a cash boost from a Stourbridge fun dog show.
A much-needed £2,000 was raised for the Hall Green Greyhound Trust at the recent show held at the Broadmarsh Kennels, in Wassell Grove Lane, near Hagley.
During the event, greyhounds and lurchers took part in a number of competitions including fastest sausage catcher and the fastest sit.
To top the day off, the winning dogs from each class were treated to a bag of food donated by Burgess Pet Care.
A spokesperson for the trust, which organised the dog show, said: “The event was a huge success and put a smile on everyone’s faces.”
The greyhound trust is one of 70 groups dedicated to preparing and finding new homes for greyhounds that raced at Hall Green Stadium, Birmingham, and currently have 33 greyhounds in the kennels needing a new home, with 52 waiting to come in.
