SMASH and grab crooks got away with computer equipment worth around £17,000 during a weekend raid at a Hagley school.

Burglars struck at Hagley RC High School, Brake Lane, between 3pm on Saturday June 23 and 6.20am on Monday June 25.

They got away with nine Apple Mac 20 inch monitors worth more than £10,000, £4,500 worth of music software, an Apple Mac laptop worth £1,000 and a 14 inch computer screen worth £300.

The offenders also caused £1,000 damage to the school, the laptop has since been recovered.

Pc Claire Rees, from West Mercia Police, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around the school during the times stated or if anyone has been offered items similar to those stolen for sale."
