A MAN crashed his car into a garage in Kingswinford after possibly falling ill at the wheel.
Emergency services were called to Gladstone Grove at 11.05am today (Wednesday) to reports that a black Ford Mondeo had smashed through a garden wall and into the garage of a semi detached property.
The male was freed from the vehicle by firefighters from Dudley and Brierley Hill, who then left him in the care of paramedics.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said although the air ambulance from Cosford was dispatched, the man was taken to hospital by land ambulance: "The man had no external injuries but was complaining of back and head pain so due to the nature of the incident, he was immobilised on a spinal board and taken to Russells Hall Hospital."
A West Midlands Police spokesman said it was still unknown how the accident happened but added: "It is possible the driver fell ill at the wheel."
The collision caused structural damage to the garage.
