VIKINGS will be descending on a Kingswinford museum next Saturday.

The invaders will ply their wares at Broadfield House Glass Museum on September 13 as part of National Heritage Day.

There will be an array of arts and crafts stalls and a fighting display to thrill the crowds, courtesy of the Svartland Vikings group, who will be there in full costume.

Visitors can also see an armoury display and watch an arrow maker at work.

Youngsters can play Hnefatafl, a Viking board game and make their own helmets for a small fee.

Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: "We have some fantastic free family events on at our museums which are sure to capture the imagination of children.

"But there's also an opportunity to look around at a very special glass collection at the same time."

Doors open at 10am and close at 4pm.

Admission is free.
