FAMILIES can have fun with numbers thanks to a new marbles mayhem maths session at Broadfield House Glass Museum.

Children take the lead on the sessions and work with their parents to solve puzzles such as finding certain shapes and colours around the museum, sorting marbles into different size groups and patterns and building marble runs.

The sessions will not only help children build their maths skills but assist parents who might be lacking confidence in their own maths abilities.

Free drop-in sessions will run from 12.30pm to 3.30pm on Sunday (October 19) and Sunday November 23.

Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environment and culture said: “These new marble mayhem sessions are a fantastic way for parents and children to work together and develop their maths skills and more importantly, their confidence in their own abilities.

“Our museum staff have worked closely with the family learning team to create these sessions which make maths fun.”
