The guild met on November 10 in the Community Centre in High Street .Following the usual necessary business of reading , approving and signing of the minutes of the previous meeting, A lively discussion followed on the reason for Affiliation fees to be raised . It was agreed that our comments should be forwarded to the Federation Committee .

The date and time of the Federation Carol Service/Celebration was announced once more and members were urged to attend as it gives the Festivities such a good start . It is open to non- members.

Final arrangement were made for the Christmas Luncheon at the Lodge ,those requiring a lift were asked to make this known ,so that lifts could be arranged .

A request was made for a volunteer to take Sylvia Taylor’s place on the Centre’s management committee as Sylvia had other commitments.

Barbara White offered to take it on.

The Scrabble group will meet on November 27 and on December 11.

The ramblers will not ramble in December as their normal day happens to be Christmas Eve.

The speaker this evening was John Mobberly who came to complete his Talk “Do you remember the 1940s?”

, which he could not finish on his last visit as the was so much lively discussion.

The evening was very much enjoyed and he was thanked on our behalf by Chris Moy.

Josie smith was thanked for the floral arrangement of poppies , which was very appropriate for this time of year. Enid Fennell won the raffle prize.

A collection was available so the members who wish to do so could make a charity donation instead of sending Christmas Cards.

It will be taken to The Lodge too.

There is no meeting in December as The Luncheon at The Lodge held instead.
