At the February meeting of the society Terry Church gave a talk entitled “1942, A Vintage Year” which looked at how life has changed in the last seventy years.
We are now so used to washing machines, TVs, mobile phones, the internet and refrigerators, even supermarkets.
None of which were available in 1942.
Terry told of how the family had lived during the last years of the war and how labour-saving appliances had made family life easier.
The speaker at the next meeting on March 2 will be Tim Booth telling us of Windmills and Waterways in the Black Country.
The meetings are at the Community Centre, High Street, Kingswinford at 7.30pm. All are welcome to come along and hear a little local history.
