A MAN has appeared in court charged with robbery following a carjacking in Kingswinford.

Richard Halford appeared before magistrates in Wolverhampton on Saturday (May 30) in connection with a robbery on April 27 when a woman was forced from her car, run over and left at the side of Ham Lane.

Halford, 20, from Rowan Rise, Kingswinford, and another man were arrested shortly after and questioned over the carjacking.

In addition to robbery, Halford was subsequently charged with failing to take part in a drugs test on arrest, drink driving and driving without insurance.

He is next due to appear before Dudley Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (June 2).

The second man arrested – who is 19-years-old – remains on police bail over the matter.
