FOUR Kingswinford friends who dream of performing on the West End stage one day are set to showcase their talents by staging a fundraising concert at Crestwood School.

Mike Astley, Emily Portch, Emma Marsh and Adam Smith, all 18, are all budding musical theatre performers and they plan to stage a review of musical theatre songs while raising funds for the charity Disability in Action.

Adam, who together with Emma Marsh, will be joining Andrew Lloyd Webber's arts educational school in London next September said: "The concert is designed to be a bit of a send off, especially as Emily is going to join Manchester Drama School as well.

"I've known Emma all my life, while I met Mike Astley when we were both members of Brierley Hill Musical Theatre Company.

"We all have plenty of experience having been members of various theatre groups and it will be just the four of us performing, although Crestwood School have kindly offered to help out with technicians.

"We've written off to a number of companies for raffle prizes and so far we've obtained some free paint ball tickets, spa treatments, cinema tickets, hair care and free Nandos food."

Entitled 'A Musical Send-Off', the concert takes place on Wednesday August 5 starting at 7pm.

Tickets cost £5 and can by obtained by calling 07889 473452 or emailing adammgeorgesmith@gmail.com
