The guild met on August 10 in the Community Centre Following apologies for absence, a quick resume was given on the progress of sick members .

The minutes of the previous meeting were read, agreed and signed.

The treasurer gave her report and reminded members of the benefits to the guild of Gift Aid.

Joyce Robins read the Federation report .

It was agreed by all who had attended the Annual Lunch at Vesuvio that it was a very enjoyable occasion.

Members were told that the 11 tickets for the Federation Harvest Luncheon were paid for ,but if anyone else wished to attend it is possible that there are still places available should anyone else wish to apply.

That Canal boat trip, with Cream Tea will leave The Bonded Warehouse at 2.30 on August 18.

Chairman Enid Fennel checked that anyone needing transport was able to get a lift. Sally Fowler was thanked for the floral arrangement which she donated as an extra raffle prize.

The prizes were won by June Baker and Sally herself.

Who says virtue is never rewarded (June had earlier Volunteered to wash up) along with Ena .

The subsections settled their next meetings and deposits were made for the Christmas Meal , which will again be held at The Lodge The speaker was Fiona Lucas who gave us stories was her many exploits in foreign parts which she introduced by means of an appropriate tea towel .

This was hugely enjoyed she was thanked on our behalf by Joyce Major.

The next meeting, in the Community Centre will be our Harvest Supper . Details of the format were announced.
