ARTWORK created from celebrity doodles immortalised in glass by artists at this year’s International Festival of Glass is to go under the hammer this weekend.

Celebrities including comic Sir Lenny Henry, footballer Steve Bull, singer Beverley Knight and actress Emma Thompson all created sketches or scribbles for the project, led by Kingswinford based Allister Malcolm, which saw the doodles used to create a range of striking glass art pieces.

The collection is now being auctioned off by Fieldings Auctioneers in Mill Race Lane, Stourbridge, this Saturday (October 24) to raise funds for the British Glass Foundation which, together with Complex Development Projects Ltd, is developing a brand new glass museum on the old Stuart Crystal site in Wordsley to house the borough's glass treasures.

The pieces can be viewed at the auction house on Friday October 23 from 10am to 8pm and on sale day from 8am until the auction starts at 10am.
