Kingswinford Townswomen's Guild

Chairman Enid Fennell welcomed two visitors to the September meeting which was a harvest celebration. Therefore it was great regret that she announced t he cancellation of the Federation Harvest Luncheon. All seventeen members of the guild who had planned to attend expressed their disappointment at the news as it was usually very enjoyable. Following the usual necessary business our celebration began. We sang Harvest hymns, Enid read a prayer, Ann read a poem and Doreen said grace. Hot dogs, cider or apple juice were served by the committee. Members had contributed a large quantity of produce to the harvest sale, which was disposed of quite quickly. A good time was had by all. Sally was thanked for providing flowers for the chairman's table. Plans were discussed for the next few weeks and deposits were collected for the Christmas Lunch. On October 10, Alan Peace will tell us about "bus v bike" a journey from Lands End to John O Groats. Interested ladies are invited to join us at 7.30pm in the Community Centre.
