KINGSWINFORD and Stourbridge Lions hope to beat previous festive fundraising efforts with this year’s Christmas sleigh outings with a brand new Santa mobile.

The charitable group has been treated to an all-new sleigh this time - thanks to sponsorship from a number of local businesses and organisations including NatWest Bank, West Bromwich Building Society, Asda, Stourbridge Motor House, Imperial Commercials, Crown Butchers.

BB Signs also lent a hand with graphics, and a large donation was made in memory of the club’s first president Joe Woodhouse.

Karen Rice, spokesman for the Lions, said group members have helped to build the new sleigh over the last 18 months.

and she added: "The club would like to thank everyone who has contributed funding and helped with building this sleigh including Glassfibre Solutions Ltd, Bewdley, for their technical help and expertise.”

She said the sleigh has been out and about across Stourbridge and Kingswinford since November 25 and a number of outings are yet to come.

Santa and his new Christmas mobile will be outside Morrison’s in Kingswinford on Saturday December 17, Sunday December 18, Thursday December 22 and Friday December 23 - spreading festive cheer and collecting in cash for charity.

The sleigh will also be touring Valley Fields on Saturday December 17 and Pedmore on Sunday December 18 - both from 4pm to 8pm.

Karen said: "We hope to beat our previous collection totals this year and looking forward to seeing lots of people."
