CHARITABLE Kingswinford schoolgirl Neve Nicholls has raised more than £400 to help new-born babies after having her long locks chopped off.
Neve, who has grown her hair since she was about five, has raised £411 to date for The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust's neonatal unit by getting her friends and relatives to sponsor her to have around 10 inches of her flowing, dark locks cut off.
The brave 11-year-old, who attends The Kingswinford School, is also donating her long brunette tresses to the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs to young cancer patients suffering hair loss, after having it cut off on Saturday (January 14) at Little Oasis hair salon, Wordsley.
The youngster's proud mum Kerrie Nicholls said: "Neve loves her new shorter look and she's amazed at the JustGiving page total so far. We also have several sponsor forms doing the rounds."
The family say the neonatal unit, which Neve's fundraising will benefit, is close to their hearts as it cared for a relative's baby son who was born prematurely and tragically died aged just five weeks old.
