THE Kingswinford and Stourbridge Lions are holding a recruitment event next week for anyone interested in joining the fundraising group.

Over the last 40 years the club has raised more than £1million to help local, national and international causes – and most recently they donated £600 to sponsor a wheelchair as part of the News Group’s Big Push campaign in conjunction with The Dudley Group of hospitals.

They have also supported The What? Centre, Calla-Rose Cadman, No Limits, Compton Hospice, Mary Stevens Hospice, the Paul Ackrill Trust, Midlands Air Ambulance, RNLI, Marie Cure Cancer, Breast Cancer Care, Lesley’s Care Packages, Beacon Centre and many more through their fundraising antics.

The Lions give up their time for free to help raise cash for good causes and to lend a hand to support projects in the community.

To find out more about their work go to www.kandslions.org.uk.

Anyone interested in getting involved to help organise events or find out more about what it means to be a Lion is invited to attend an open evening on Monday September 11 at Stourbridge Institute and Social Club, Bell Street, Stourbridge, from 8pm.
